| Jeremy Chapman is a music education graduate from the University of Kentucky where he has studied percussion with Professor James B. Campbell. Before graduating with an Education Degree, Jeremy was a member of the music performance school. Jeremy has performed with many with many ensembles at the University ranging from UK Percussion Ensemble, UK Steel Band, UK Symphony Orchestra (principal percussionist), UK Symphony Band (principal percussionist), UK Wind Ensemble, UK Opera, UK Marching Band, and the UK Indoor Competition Drumline.
Among his performance opportunities at the university, Jeremy has been able to perform as an extra percussionist for the Lexington Philharmonic, a member of the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps, and winner of the 2001 Percussive Arts Society International Convention Solo Competition for Percussion and Alto Saxophone Duo, and a featured performing artist with the UK Percussion Ensemble at the 2001 PASIC Convention. He was also a founding member of Blue Steel professional steel drum band. Having worked with a variety of bands in KY, OH, GA, and MO, Jeremy is currently pursing a career in music education in East Tennessee as a band director at Norwood Middle School and Clinton High School while freelancing as an arranger and marching percussion specialist. Along with Jeremy’s band work, he has been involved with a few drum corps, including Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps, and The Colts Drum and Bugle Corps. Jeremy has recently joined up with Spirit Drum and Bugle Corps as a Front Ensemble Technician and also the current Front Ensemble Caption Head for Odyssey Percussion Theatre in Atlanta, GA. |
