| Eric graduated from Brookwood High School in Gwinnett County in 1994, and earned his Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Georgia State University. He has performed in several musical and percussion ensembles such as the Georgia State University Symphonic Winds, Georgia State University Orchestra, Georgia State University Percussion Ensemble, Georgia Tech Symphonic Band, Georgia Tech University Orchestra, Gwinnett Co. Orchestra, Georgia Tech Percussion Ensemble and the Georgia Tech MIDI Ensemble - "Drumstechs."
He has also marched in several different performing groups, including: Georgia Tech Drum Line - 1995 through 1997; Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps - 1995 and 1996; Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps - 1997; Atlanta Rhythm Machine (WGI) - 1996; and Carolina Thunder (WGI) - 1998. Eric taught at the Lamattina Drum Studio from 1993 to 1995. He then went on to compose and teach the music for the Brookwood H.S. Drum line from 1998 - 2002. His other experiences include teaching percussion at several high schools including Wheeler, Central Gwinnett, Dacula, Norcross, Harrison, Spartanburg, Collins Hill, Loganville Christian and South Forsyth. He was also a percussion instructor at the University of Georgia Joycliffe Camp in 2002. Eric was a battery technician at Pariah (WGI) in 1999 and 2003, a battery technician for the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps in 2000, and a battery technician for the Magic of Orlando Drum and Bugle Corps in 2002. Since 2008 Eric has been the caption head and arranger for the Atlanta Falcons Drum Line, which is the largest active drum line in the world. They perform at all Falcons home games before and during the game. Eric has been the Percussion Caption and battery arranger for the Georgia Tech Drum line since 2002. In 2005, Eric founded Odyssey Percussion Theatre with friends, and has served as the Executive Director and also the Chief Financial Officer on the Board of Directors. Eric has been the battery arranger for Odyssey since 2008, and is continuing to do so for the 2010 season. Eric has been teaching and writing the music for South Forsyth High School since 2008. Eric is an active percussion arranger, adjudicator and private lessons teacher in the Atlanta area. Starting in 2010, Eric is also the new Percussion Caption for the Corpsvets Drum and Bugle Corps. |
